St. Patrick Catholic School in Largo, Florida, was founded in 1959 by Rev. John Scully and run by the Sisters of Mercy from Worchester, Massachusetts. The school was first accredited by the Florida Catholic School Conference in March 1974, and continues to be accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference and the National Council for Private School Accreditation.
St. Patrick serves 200 students from preschool through grade eight under the direction and guidance of Mrs. Erin Galley.
In July of 2016, St Patrick Catholic School transitioned from a Parochial school to a Diocesan school structure and in July of 2017, St. Patrick joined the Alliance for Catholic Education’s Notre Dame ACE Academies. The Notre Dame ACE Academies are a network of academically excellent, financially sustainable, and distinctively Catholic K-8 schools, that operate through the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education.
In July of 2020, St. Patrick Catholic transitioned out of the Notre Dame ACE Academy network while maintaining the relationship with the Alliance for Catholic Education through ACE Teaching Fellows and the Higher Powered Learning program.
St. Patrick Catholic School remains a Diocesean School within the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
